Technology Tip:
Backing up files from the internet! Do you have photos on facebook, videos on YouTube? Everything is great until you want them offline. You could go to each site to download them or you could make your life very easy and go to a website called SocialFolders. This is a service that syncs web content to desktops.
To get yourself started, you download a utility to your desktop that creates a SocialFolders folder you can access via Windows Explorer. Then you can go to socialfolders.me, where you create an account, identify and connect your social services, which can include any of the following: Box, Evernote, Facebook, Flicker, Google Docs, Instagram, Photobucket, Picasa, SmugMug, Twitter and YouTube. You can use SocialFolders Web interface to determine how much information you want to sync (all your facebook albums or select a few) and the content you choose will automatically download to your desktop. SocialFolders lets you upload files, too. It is an easy and fast way to make sure that you always have a backup of your precious online data.
Have a great weekend!
